Hi everyone, my name is Heath Hall, and I'm with TriageLogic. I'm curious to hear about your experiences applying for your California RN license. How long did the whole process take for you? Were there any challenges or delays you faced along the way? If you learned anything that could help streamline the process for others, I'd really appreciate any tips or insights. Thanks!

Hi Heath,

You can complete the application online.  Main thing is to make sure that you have all the required documents sent to the California Board. For example, Nursing school transcript must be sent directly from the college or university. The information is on the website.  Please see attached 2 pages. 

As for the processing time, please check the website. When you submit the application, you get an email response from the Board.  My only suggestions is to verify that the requested documents are sent and received by the board.  Missing information/document is the main reason for delays.

My process took 9 months.  I was able to submit all of my needed information such as fingerprints, back ground check and all of nurse school transcripts.  I was able to follow the entire process on line.  Once all of my information was submitted it was 9 months later that I was approved and received my California License.  I have no added tips for streamline other than be patient.  I applied for mine with the thought I may move there with a travel agency and never did.
