  • 1.  Creating a 24/7 regional call center nurse advice line

    Good evening!

    I am looking to connect with anyone that may have experience in creating a 24/7 nurse advice line and asking if you might share some data on downstream revenue capture. I am in the process of creating a business plan with case study that would project the number of potential new patient  EHRs created and subsequent generation of revenue. I have tried searching the previous posts without much success and thought I might ask here.

    Currently our hospital offers nurse triage 8a-8p daily for ED/UC and on-demand visits for patients seen in the last 72 hours. We would like to open this nurse advice line to the community and expand the hours/days to 24/7 within the next 1-2 years. 

    To achieve buy-in at the Senior Leadership level, I would like to present some current data from similar organizations that have a 24/7 nurse triage line with primary care scheduling access. Specifically, I would love to know if this has created revenue on the primary care side that can be directly attributed to the nurse line. 

    Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello, we use our dispositions and scheduled visit types to capture downstream revenue. We have specific "Nurse Triage" appointments we use to schedule patients. We have our own nurses cover the lines from 7a-7p and use a corporate nursing team to cover from 7p-7a. We are a GI practice, currently with 8 clinics across the Central Florida region. We answer all incoming clinical phone calls and also work with the access center to triage for possible sooner appointments.
