Good afternoon, colleagues,
As AAACN begins development of its new 2027–2030 Strategic Plan and 2027 operational plan, our Workplace Safety and Workplace Well-Being Special Interest Group has the opportunity to help shape the future direction of our profession and ensure the needs of ambulatory care nurses are represented.
As Co-Chairs of the SIG, we are seeking your input on priorities, goals, and activities that you believe our SIG should pursue over the next several years. Your ideas will help inform our recommendations to AAACN and guide the work of our SIG through 2030.
We would appreciate your thoughts on questions such as:
- What workplace safety issues should be a priority for ambulatory care nurses?
- What initiatives could best support nurse well-being, resilience, and engagement?
- What educational programs, resources, or tools would benefit our members?
- What emerging workplace challenges should AAACN address over the next three to five years?
- Are there opportunities for research, evidence-based practice, or quality improvement work related to workplace safety and well-being?
- What advocacy efforts should be considered?
- How can our SIG enhance member engagement, networking, and professional development?
- Are there specific activities, projects, webinars, or collaborations you would like the SIG to pursue?
We welcome all ideas, whether they are broad strategic priorities or specific activities that could be implemented in 2027 and beyond.
Please post your suggestions on this thread, and we will compile and review all feedback as we complete our planning template and develop recommendations for the upcoming strategic planning cycle.
Thank you for your commitment to advancing workplace safety and well-being in ambulatory care nursing. Your experience, insight, and expertise are invaluable as we chart the future of our SIG.
Warm regards,
