For nurses week it is mostly hospital focused however we have worked hard to include the ambulatory areas as well. Each day there is some sort of event for nurses. We also have a gift that is given. Last year it was a thermos....this year its a back pack. Since we have CMA/CCMAs as well in the clinics we honor them during medical assistant week with the same gift we gave to the nurses during nurses week but we also do a little celebration. Same with our rad techs and receptionists. We try to honor them during their respective weeks.
The hospital also has a variety of nursing awards we are starting this year for several different categories. That will be fun I think since its in addition to our daisy award.
These weeks are always challenging because you will always have the naysayers with the gifts or events but I think for the most part staff appreciate the little celebrations.
For hospital week a meal is usually provided to employees...I believe we had food trucks come out the last couple years.
