Has anyone had a Joint Commission visit in the past year?  We are due soon and I'm wondering if they are behind with their ambulatory surveys.  A local health system just started their survey this week and they were due in January.  Our Lab survey was several weeks overdue last year.  I'm getting nervous.  Any insight from any organizations with a recent ambulatory survey?

Hi Lisa-we had ours last year-and no, they are not behind.

I had thought though that they will notify you prior to the visit now. This is at least what we were told after our last visit, that that was the last unannounced one. I would check with your account rep.

Good luck! I am finding the visits much more helpful and a better educational opportunity rather than a series of "gotcha" moments like before!

    Best wishes,

    Mary
