If you're looking for current VHA RNs to join a study group, you might want to head on over to the VA SIG to recruit more directly. If you're not a current VA SIG member, we'd love to have you. We share a lot of great information!

To take the test you have to be an RN for one year. However, I'd love to have you in the study hall group. Knowledge is power!  And this would be great to add to your educational section of your proficiency.

    • Dear Dawn and AAACN Colleagues :Just wanted to clarify this issue
    • The criteria for sitting for the ANCC Ambulatory Certification:
      • Hold a current, active RN license, in a state or territory of the United States or the professional, legally recognized equivalent in another country.
      • Have practiced the equivalent of 2 years full-time as a registered nurse.
      • Have a minimum of 2,000 hours of clinical practice in ambulatory care nursing within the last 3 years.
      • Completed 30 hours of continuing education in ambulatory care nursing within the last 3 years.
      •                                 ( we can discuss this  this particular requirement on Tuesday call - as it often helps to clarify  as to what applies )

Not sure if this study group has launched, but I would love to participate as certification is a goal I'd like to achieve in the next 12 months. Please add me to the group or let me know where/how I can join.

    Good morning,
This study group sounds great- others have had a lot of success studying this way for the exam. I wanted to remind you to take advantage of the recording from our call based on study tips and tricks from last year. Lots of good information in it.
You'll find it in the Open Forum Community Library - from there go to the COMMUNITY LIVE drop down and open the Ambulatory Care Nursing Certification Chat- Tips for Success (screen shot of what you'll see below). Lots of good information from members that are studying and some that had just passed and had great tips!

Good luck! Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions,

    Dawn & colleagues,

Did you know that an Ambulatory Care Certification Review course is offered through CE Direct?  It connects you to the AAACN certification 'official' review course. At the CE Direct website, this access is free.  There are VA & non VA organizations listed in a drop down menu.

At James A. Haley VA, staff click on the CE Direct link which sends an email request to our VA librarian on the 2nd floor; s/he will set up access.

    I explain further [below].

    CE Direct login
    https://lms.nurse.com

Please go to the webpage & click on the button to get instructions for your facility.  Many facilities [VA & non-VA] are listed in a drop down menu.   Yours many be listed too.   There are CEs for your non-RN colleagues too!

    https://lms.nurse.com
This is what the home screen looks like:

Enhance patient care by delivering specialty-focused continuing education that:

    • Improves your staff's clinical practice
    • Supports their professional development
    • Achieves your organization's initiatives

CE Direct, the leading online corporate education solution for nurses, physicians, and 20+ allied health professions.

Featuring content published on:  Nurse.com [Relias]

I recertified by CEs and I hope this helps your study journey!
