Hello All!
I was today year's old when I realized that while the phrase "Chinese New Year" (celebrated on January 22) is not technically wrong (because it is celebrated in China), it is much more inclusive and accepted to use the term "Lunar New Year" as many countries celebrate at this time. Also, it could be the year of the rabbit or the year of the cat depending on where you come from. For more information, see the link above.
This message is brought to you by the AAACN DEI Committee. We are committed to providing our AAACN family with information and education on all things DEI. This is the first of a new column we will refer to as "I was today years old when I learned…" an open forum for humility. Keep an eye out for it as we start our new webpage!
Happy Lunar New Year!
