Wondering how clinics handle training and competency of staff on reprocessing (pre-cleaning, cleaning, sterilization, HLD). Who manages it, sterile processing dept, IP, education department, an outside vendor? Do you have dedicated staff responsible or are all clinical staff in the clinic responsible for reprocessing?

We have 9 primary care clinics that all perfrom steam sterilization of their own instruments. We have dedicated superusers for sterile processing.  Usually, 2-3 per clinic.  The clinical education team provides the training and competency follow up for each clinic and their super users.  In additon, we do training for pre & post procedure sterile processing education and follow up for all staff to ensure all clinic staff (including providers) are knowledgable of how to maintain good instrument processes as a collective.
