  • 1.  Telephone Triage RN benchmarks

    Wondering if anyone currently has a dashboard or are there national standard established that determines benchmarks for # of nurses per volume of messages or other productivity measures that determine safe and timely effectiveness in managing electronic and telephone messages from patients.  Any nurse to MD provider ratio's established?  Is that based on volume of messages that provider may encounter?   Does anyone measure time per message to establish productivity benchmarks?

    I hope this message finds you well. We developed a Clinical Staffing Tool for our ambulatory space at UTSW. 

    Attached, you'll find a poster from a presentation we made at AAACN a couple of years ago, which provides some insight into the tool and its application. We are continuing to refinement and adaptation our tool, ensuring it evolves to meet the changing needs and demands of our users.
