    Hello Fellow Nursing Leaders,

I am interested in learning whether any of your organizations support Urgent Care facilities. If so , do you recommend or provide crash/code carts or are AEDs sufficient in your Urgent Care settings? I have a few concerns, but wanted to understand the current practices at other organizations first.

    Kindest Regards,

    Laura

We have 3 urgent care sites that are supported thru ambulatory care. We have AEDs at all 3 sites. We work with these teams to ensure they implement rapid resuscitation and contact dispatch for immediate transport.

We have an Urgent Care at the UK Healthcare and currently do not have a crash cart. We do have emergency supplies in one location within the supply room, which is locked by key code (no meds). And we have an AED as well. When we have an emergency, we perform debriefings after to determine needs and response.

We do not have crash carts in PC or Urgent Care.  We do have an emergency medication box that contains Benadryl, EPI, nitro, glucose tabs (can't remember the brand), we have an AED, gait belts and ambu bags, we do only have x-ray. Additionally we have a trigger work list and when patient present with certain symptoms they are automatically expedited to a provider.  We do not have RNs in UC.  Let me know if this is helpful.  Happy to talk.  Take care.
