  • 1.  AAACN Poster Platform 2023

    Posted 02-07-2023 09:23
For those of you creating a poster for the AAACN Conference, what platform are you using to create the poster and what size poster have you landed on?  I have been working in Microsoft Publisher and it is a nightmare.  I have looked at other platforms and am struggling to find the right poster size for the 4'x8' board.

    Any guidance is appreciated!

    Good morning Erin,

Most people create their poster file in Microsoft PowerPoint as a single slide and add the information in that way. If you're looking for help with the creation of the onsite poster, you can try this site- https://www.posterpresentations.com/html/presentation_size_options.html

This website gives a good representation of the board space vs. the size of the actual poster and might be helpful since it references it in inches.

Of the ones they show, the 3'x5' (36"x60") and the 4'x6' (48"x72") are the ones we see the most.

    I hope this helps!

Hello and thank you for sharing this resource Jennie!
We too are excited to present a poster for the first time at the AAACN conference in April.
The poster acceptance letter indicated presenters would be allotted 1/2 of a 4' x 8' space.  We had interpreted 1/2 of a single-sided 4' x 8' space to accommodate a poster to the maximum size of 4' x 4'.  Is 1/2 of a 4' x 8' space actually for front or back of a 2-sided space that would accommodate the common dimensions [3'x5' (36"x60") and 4'x6' (48"x72")] described in your post?  Thank you for the clarification!

My experience is that the corkboard is two sided (front and back), each side 4 x 8. So you will have one side of the corkboard for your poster and someone else will have the other side.

    Hope this helps.

I usually use makesigns.com (they recently changed their name, but you can still search by makesigns.com). I used their chat feature to ask what size they recommend for a poster to fill a a 4 x 8 corkboard. They recommend "at or below 48 X 96".

    Hope this helps.
