    Good Morning,

Does anyone have a clinical ladder or professional ladder for any non-nurse front line staff in their organizations?

We are interested in something for registration and MA's in our ambulatory setting.

Laura, MCMG introduced an MA career ladder for our MAs a little more than one year ago.  We have three levels, with level 2 and level 3 requiring additional activities be met and maintained yearly.   The activities include such things as volunteer activity, serving in a role that supports the office such as safety officer, preceptor, inventory management champion, etc..., completing continuing education, obtaining phlebotomy certification, obtaining/maintaining MA certification.  About 15% of our MAs participate.  They do obtain additional hourly pay. The MAs must submit their electronic portfolio yearly demonstrating they have met the requirements yearly.

    Good morning,

Our facility is implementing a clinical ladder for MAs in July. There are three steps to the ladder. Tier 1 focuses on self development (becoming certified, a certain number of CEUs, or college education), tier 2 is practice development (meeting organizational metrics specific to their performance), Tier 3 is giving back to the organization being a leader of their council, participating in quality improvement project, precepting new staff, or taking a formal leadership role (like a shift lead).

    Good afternoon,

We have a Progression Plan that we offer for our MAs and LPNs. We have Intermediate and Advanced levels that both include a higher level of performance and contributions to the workplace. The Advanced level is for those that complete a Quality improvement project that lasts at least 3 months.

Let me know if you would like more information.

    Thanks,
