Can anyone share their reporting structure for their clinical education department?
The department I manage includes planning, implementing and evaluating clinical education, including clinical competencies that can include re-assignment of job duties and HR related tasks. My new director is not a nurse and does not hold a clinical license of any kind. I have brought this to the attention of senior leadership as I do not think someone who does not hold a nursing, or any clinical license, can legally oversee clinical programs that involve any type of clinical decision making.
I wanted to see how other nurses in similar situations managed this type of thing and the reporting structure.
