Good morning everyone!
In response to Roxanne Kuroski,
After our pharmacies realized we were consistently doing the E-RX route, most stopped faxing. We get very few now (but this has been over the past several years).
I suggest that you send a letter to the corporate offices of the major pharmacies asking them to make changes in the system for your organization.
Good luck!! Rhonda

Subject: Faxed Refill Requests
Hello,
I am the nurse manager for three specialty clinics. We receive an abundance of faxes every day for refill requests. Nine times out of ten, when we look in EPIC, the refill has already been requested electronically by the pharmacy and it has been e-prescribed. My question is: Has anyone had any luck getting the pharmacies to STOP faxing? There are so many locations for the big pharmacies, it would be impossible to contact each one. Any insight is appreciated!
Thank you,
Roxanne Kuroski, MSN, RN, AMB-BC
