Has Anyone Taken the Certification Exam in 2022?

  • 1.  Has Anyone Taken the Certification Exam in 2022?

    Posted 09-25-2022 16:26
I am looking for someone that has recently taken and passed the Ambulatory Care Certification Test and would be willing to share their experience. I host a study group and we would love to hear about the test taking experience, any studying or other tips for the test. The group meets every other Sunday from 1-3pm MST. We are using the AAACN books for studying but would love to hear about how it was to actually take the test. None of us are sure we are studying the right kind of materials and wonder if there is anything else we should be reviewing. If you would be willing to join one of our study group sessions to talk about your experience, please let me know.

    Many thanks!

    Hello Linda,

I too am considering taking the exam before the end of this year. Is there any resource material you would recommend for Prep.  There are so many references available, if you could please share what you deemed the most appropriate or helpful that would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Ralene,

We are almost done with the Core Curriculum book and most of us are planning on testing before the end of this year. I would highly recommend that you do a post looking for study buddies like I did earlier this year, I know there are others looking to find people to study with.

    Best of luck,

    Hi Ralene,

I am also studying on my own. I'm brand new to ambulatory care and mostly I'm on the phones for triage, at which I'm also brand new. So I need all the help I can get to learn overall ambulatory nursing and try to study for this test. I'd be more than happy to set up a study group with you and the other responders from this post.  I am not planning on testing until after next years conference, so have the time to really learn.

Feel free to send a private message if you are interested.

Good morning Trinity and all that have responded.

It's great to hear that you're still meeting with the study group! I believe from previous conversations that you're using the Ambulatory Care Nursing Review Questions, 5th Edition and the Core Curriculum for Ambulatory Care Nursing, 4th Edition, 2019, correct?  We also have the Course Syllabus and the Certification Review Course. There seem to be quite a few members that are interested, so I'm happy to set up a zoom call on Tuesday, October 11 at 7:00pm Eastern to talk about what the exam is like and best practices to study.  @Linda Bos - we'd love to have you join us and give some tips for success.  If other members that have passed the exam would like to participate, please contact me jennifer@aaacn.org or post in the this thread and we'll organize the call!

I'm looking forward to hearing from others!
