    Wow, thank you Lisa for sharing these numbers! They highlight not only the remarkable work of Federally Qualified Health Centers, but also the barriers we face to achieving quality outcomes, with only 62 health centers nationwide reaching 80% control among their hypertension patients (if any of you work for one of those health centers, I'd like to know what you're doing right!)

    My health center has almost 700 patients enrolled in our nurse-driven remote blood pressure monitoring program. We recently revamped guidelines for the program, and I've spent the last week putting together a set of standard patient education materials for the nurses to use - in six languages!

    Over the years, many AAACN members have expressed a desire to have a SIG specific to the needs and interests of FQHC nurses. While I'm glad to be part of the shared federal nursing SIG with my military and VA colleagues, I'd like to revive the proposal for a dedicated FQHC SIG as well. Moving into uncertain times for the Department of Health and Human Services, it is more important than ever that health center nurses connect, organize, and advocate for our unique practice setting and the millions of patients who rely on us for essential health care.
