Update from NCC- While the Senate HELP committee markup of appropriations funding of HHS programs i(including Title VIII nursing workforce funding programs), the preview text on the House side is closer to the President's proposed budget package, which zeros- out these programs (with the exception of Nurse Corps scholarship and loan programs). The House HHS Education subcommittee is scheduled to mark up the bill later today. Please consider contacting your member in the House to encourage them to restore these programs which are the only programs that support nursing education and workforce development!

Additionally, there is a proposal to restructure the department of Health and Human Services to collapse existing agencies such as NINR and HRSA into a new agency are being proposed. Nursing can't get lost in the mix here!
