I'm excited to hear there will be a call around this! I was involved in the implementation of a Shared Governance program within our academic hospital many years ago and am interested to see what it could look like on the ambulatory side.
I'd be interested to hear if those who have implemented it have a population specific program, a global program, or some sort of hybrid that mixes the two. We have many specialties within our organization, and we're working on trying to get smaller population specific groups together for shared problem solving. At this point I don't know that it's a nursing specific project (we have non-nursing/clinical Practice Managers and the staffing mix varies depending on the region) but there would be some sort of clinical representation there. We figure if a women's clinic in one region is having an issue with something, a women's clinic two hours away is having a similar issue- let's make sure they're all at the table (even if it's a virtual table) to have open discussion and problem solving.

Subject: Implementation of Shared Governance in Ambulatory sites
Hello,
We are actively trying to implement Shared Governance in our ambulatory care sites. We have multiple clinics throughout our State. I'm curious if anyone has successfully, or is attempting to implement Shared Governance in their ambulatory sites? Would be interested to learn what works and what hasn't worked during that implementation process.
Thank you!
-Robin
