Invitation to Participate in Capstone Research Study
Good day, Fellow Nurses,
My name is Sheira Donaldson, BSN, RN, AMB-BC, and I am conducting a research study for my Capstone project, which aims to improve nurses' knowledge, confidence, and intent to prevent childhood overweight and obesity, particularly in underserved communities.
Why Is Your Participation Important?
This brief study is designed for registered nurses and graduate nursing students and includes a short pre-survey, followed by an online educational module, and then a post-survey to evaluate knowledge and self-reported practice intentions.

Who Can Participate?
· Licensed Registered Nurses (ADN/AAS, BSN, MSN, DNP/ PhD)
· Age 18 or older
· English-speaking
· Currently practicing in any clinical/non-clinical setting and/or enrolled in a graduate RN-level program (e.g., continuing education)

What Does Participation Involve?
- Step 1: Review the Informed Consent Form and consent to participate
- Step 2: Create a unique 6-digit Participant ID code
- Step 3: Complete a brief Demographic Form and Pre-survey
- Step 4: View a brief Educational Module (PowerPoint)
- Step 5: Complete a Post-survey to assess knowledge, confidence, and intent to change practice
- Approximately 15–25 minutes total
- Confidentiality: Participation is voluntary, anonymous, and confidential
- Format: Online

How to Participate
If you meet the criteria and are interested in participating, please click the link below to begin the study. You will first be asked to review and e-sign the electronic consent form. After that, you'll proceed to the pre-survey, view the educational module, and complete the post-survey.
