  • 1.  ISO a competency template

    Posted 12-23-2024 19:25

Hello. Would anyone be willing to share a general competency template with me? I've scoured the posts and truly only found a few competency documents, loads of orientation samples for which I'm very grateful. I will be establishing a competency schedule for our MA's in 2025 starting with setting up for PAP, IUD insertion/removal, and Nexplanon insertion/removal. Thank you!

    Hi Heather,

There are definitely examples int eh Ambulatory Care Nursing Orientation and Competency Asesessment Guide (AAACN Text).

Attached is an example of our competency checklist style.

Many of our areas use the Donna Wright model so there are many forms in which competencies are done. I'll attach a few (most of what I have is RN focused but could be edited for MAs).

We moved toward offering as much electronically as feasible so many of these are done via Microsoft Forms, not on paper. Also easier to track! (Exemplar, Case Study, etc.)

    Kathleen,

Thank you for sharing.  I have a clarifying question regarding the Microsoft Forms documentation.  Who receives the completed MS form and where is the documentation kept.

We have considered MS Forms for documentation but have close to 3,000 clinical staff in our ambulatory division.

    Thank you!
