  • 1.  Nursing Scorecards

    Posted 04-24-2023 12:15

I was able to get a couple of examples at the conference but would anyone else be willing to share their scorecards they use for nursing.  A lot of our current scorecards are more front end based and not clinical quality so I am working to develop one.

    Thank you!

    Hi Ryan!
This is a great ask. I too am working on developing nursing scorecards for RNs in primary care. I am following for the dialogue that develops. I am starting from scratch and am very interested in what other have to share.

Ryan, we have a nice dashboard document that we use with our database.  Can you give me a couple examples of how you are defining 'clinical quality?'  We define it as improved outcomes for the patient that result from EBP process compliance and timeliness.
Once I know more, I would be happy to share how we have designed ours and send you a sample.  I don't want to waste your time on the wrong thing.  I don't work in ambulatory at this time, so trying to learn more about your needs.

I think what I am looking for are quality measures as well as professional development measures.  Inpatient has all those fancy CLABSI, CAUTI, etc.

I would like to monitor falls, medication adherence, maybe some HEDIS measures, press ganey, certification percentages, etc.  Kind of a mash up of items that are nursing driven.

    Ryan,

I am following this discussion also.

I am trying to develop a scorecard from scratch for telephone triage nurses also to provide more efficient, and timely feedback.

I would love to see the examples you received also.

    Thank you,

    Hi Ryan,
I have scorecards that I use for our ambulatory clinics to monitor hand hygiene, barcode medication scanning compliance, informed consent completion for in-office procedures, and medication and allergy documentation. I would be happy to share more if anyone is interested!

    Hi Angela,
I would love to see the nurse scorecards that you use. We do not use scorecards at this time but would love to evaluate a measurement tool that helps us meet our goals.
