Hello-
To prepare for the upcoming flu/covid/RSV season, we are considering training our OB clinic nurses to measure fundal height and assess fetal heart rate dop tones for providers that are sick and out office. This would mean that providers that are sick/contagious, but well enough to do telehealth from home would still keep their regular patient appointments where the patient would come into the clinic for their appointment and the nurse would assist with measuring fundal height and listening to the fetal heart rate by doppler followed by the telehealth visit. Are there any clinics on here that currently have the RNs doing this and do you have a clinical policy that supports this practice? Any insight into implementing this would be appreciated. We are practicing in California.
