    Hello,

Our organization is currently looking at revamping our orientation checklists for new hires and would like to compare to what other organizations are using. Would anyone be willing to share examples being used elsewhere for RN Clinic, Clinical Nurse Coordinator, LPN Clinic, ACA/MA (Ambulatory Care Assistant/Medical Assistant), Radiology Tech.

    Thank you in advance.

We are in the process of this work now. We are using the Orientation Competency Validation Tools at the back of the Ambulatory Care Nursing Orientation and Competency Assessment Guide as the framework. Our current forms are between 14 and 18 pages long, so we are going to decrease the length of them, and I would like to try to automate it using our LMS or something like HealthStream's Checklist. We are still early in this work, so I don't have anything concrete to share.

I created an orientation checklist for MAs when I started at my organization recently; I'll email it to you. It's not perfect but it's better than nothing (which is what we had previously--<<sigh>>!!). We're also in the process of getting Lippincott Procedures, which we'll use to supplement this checklist--I imagine we'll add a section to this checklist that lists all of the Lippincott modules new hires need to complete before finishing orientation.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you, Ashley. This checklist looks very similar to what we are currently using. We do have Lippincott as our EBP and we also use them to house our orientation checklists to document electronically. Lippincott does have checklists already there that our staff can assign to any employee that will show on their transcript. Are you using the checklists in Lippincott in addition to the orientation checklist. I appreciate all your help and feedback.

We're not using the Lippincott checklists yet bc we're still in the process of finalizing our contract with Lippincott. We'll be rolling it out to staff in the next couple of months, but I love the idea of embedding checklists in the EBP. I'll look out for this feature when we develop our implementation plan--thanks for the heads up!

Hello!  I work with a team of both nurse and MA educators and we are just finishing up work of finalizing a new checklist and process.  We have created lists for primary care practices, as well as each specialty practice we have, while also sorting the tasks in 30, 60, and 90 days (starting with more basic items in the first 30 days and progressing to more advanced skills and tasks by 90 days).  At the end, we link to the Lippincott skills checklists they should utilize as well.

As we are still doing this work, the lists are still in draft.  I would welcome any feedback or questions.  Please reach out if there are other lists you would like to see but for now I attached just our pcp MA one.
