Do any facilities allow the use of templated standing orders for ostomy care? We have an ostomy clinic that runs 4 days a week, supported by an ostomy nurse. The attending provider (surgeon) is not in the clinic. The ostomy nurse wants to be able to order and apply/dispense prescription strength topicals. How do other ostomy clinics handle this? Do you create standing orders?
