Hi Tyler,
I encourage you to make sure your space is safe for children (think outlet covers, locking drawers, removing ligature-type cords, etc) and tailor your space to be kid-friendly (diversional activities, lively art or posters, size-appropriate equipment & furniture). Do make friends with your area emergency nurses! The Emergency Nurses Assoc (ENA.org) offers a course in pediatric emergency nursing; ENPC. The sections on approach to and assessment of the pediatric patient, pain, positioning for procedures, & recognizing abuse are all applicable. Your area hospital ED nurses may have ENPC instructors that could help you train your staff and their medical library may have key reference texts you can borrow- Wong's Nursing Care of Infants & Children, Sheehy's Emergency Nursing Principles & Practice. Additionally, the Soc of Pediatric Nurses, www.pedsnurses.org offer clinical practice guidelines and training. Identify interested staff to help you champion dissemination of knowledge to your office, have a "Ped's Pearls" bulletin board to post applicable articles, etc. Including a few links to resources I recommend:

Greetings all!
We are bringing on a new dermatologist who sees pediatrics of all ages. I would greatly appreciate any staff training tools or resources you all can provide! Even if more generic in nature (not dermatology specific) would be helpful.
Thank you in advance!
