We offer preceptor pay at our organization for nurses that precept. Nurses have to apply to be a preceptor and take an initial 8 hours class, and then a yearly 4 hour class to keep current and receive the incentive.
I am curious about medical assistant preceptor pay.. Is any one willing to share if they do this, and if so what are the requirements?
Also wondering if there is any incentive for precepting nursing students. I know that it is very difficult for nursing schools to find placements and preceptors. With the increase in community clinicals, we are receiving more and more requests in the ambulatory setting to take on nursing students, but there is currently no monetary incentive for nurses to take on precepting nursing students. It is difficult to find enough placements for these requests that are being made. But we do know that nursing students that have a positive experience at our organization in their clinical placements often end up applying for jobs at our organization once they graduate.
