    Are any of you holding quarterly ambulatory RN meetings, get togethers or forums to improve RN to RN contact ?

    Hi Beatrice,

    We have a quarterly Ambulatory Nursing Leadership meeting led by our ambulatory nursing director and including our clinical operations managers, assistant nurse managers and educators. This allows for discussion of common challenges, information sharing, and efforts for alignment with our system nursing partners as well. We do not currently have a staff level nurse meeting, but the expectation is that the ANMs and educators share information as relevant back with their teams. This is only one element of our communication strategy though that also includes quarterly staff rounding in all areas as well as a robust and growing ambulatory shared leadership structure that allows staff to come together in their respective councils every 6 weeks.

    Hi Beatrice,

    We hold monthly nursing meetings at the clinic level, in addition to inter-clinic meetings as a part of our system's shared governance structure. Clinic meetings involve nursing staff and our direct supervisor, and for inter-clinic meetings we usually have representatives from the various ambulatory clinics, in addition to representatives from administration present.

    We hold monthly Floor meetings that include the nursing staff as well as the APRN, PA and physicians working on our floor. Our Medical Director is a part of this meeting as well. This meeting affords us the opportunity to discuss issues, policy & procedure changes, upcoming events, etc. The Health Center nursing staff has a monthly meeting as well under the direction of our Associate Director of Clinic Operations. During those meetings we discuss changes and participate in staff development (Non CE) trainings.

    We have developed an Ambulatory Professional Practice Council.  That meets regularly. It is lead by staff nurses with leader mentors.  Because it crosses multiple specialties and primary cares it is difficult to have people meet in person. However, there is always a virtual option-and this months is 100% Virtual.  It is still a work in progress but it is a great way for nurses to share and collaborate on initiatives like clinical ladders, quality goals, etc.

    Hi All,
    Each clinic in our organization does nursing meetings a little differently. 
    One of our clinics holds monthly nursing meetings once a month for an hour. This includes RNs, LVNs. MAs, and our lead HSR.
    Then a monthly Population Health meeting is done with all staff.
    In another clinic,
    IM and Urgent Care have weekly meetings with nursing for 30 to 60 minutes for nursing staff and monthly meetings with all staff. 
    They are very useful and empowering for staff.
