We know that workplace violence events are increasing. In examining data, we have notice repeated assailant within the past month, six months and year.
To better understand repeated workplace safety events, I'd value your response on the following:
- Flagging Criteria: How many assaults, and within what timeframe, must an individual commit before they are flagged in our Electronic Health Record (EHR)?
- Response Strategies: Does your organization have distinct strategies for individuals who have committed one workplace violence incident versus those with multiple incidents? If so, what are these strategies?
- Patient vs. Employee Assailants: Do your organization's response strategies differ depending on whether the repeat assailant is a patient or another healthcare employee?
