  • 1.  RN Justification

    Posted 10-14-2022 13:31
With the current RN shortage in our inpatient units, my organization is requiring us to justify the requirement of having an RN in our OB/GYN clinics. In addition to fetal monitoring/interpretation, what are other orgainzations' requirements for the RN in this setting? I am looking for a job description and/or a list of requirements. We would like to implement RN led visits, group visits and education as we grow this specialty.
Thanks so much for your input!

    Hi,
I currently manage an OBGYN practice that has 10 RNs employed. Our nurses are responsible for injections, incision checks, blood pressure checks, NSTs, IV hydration, nurse IOB visits, diabetic education, panorama and horizon testing/ results, triaging questions/ concerns via the patient portal and calls coming through to the office.
