Our community allergy practice is divided regarding whether to update the patch test patient's allergy list to reflect positive findings.
For example, the commercial T.R.U.E Test (SmartPractice) patch product tests for 35 different allergens and allergen mixes to aid diagnosis of allergic contact dermatitis; should positive findings (ie. reactive to nickel sulfate, fragrance mix, etc) be recorded in the patient's allergy list? Why or why not? Please indicate if your work setting is Allergy or Dermatology.
Our clinic favors only listing drug and food allergies on the allergy list.
Thank-you!
