CHCs face rising costs, workforce shortages, and reduced 340B savings. Nearly half of CHCs operate with fewer than 90 days of cash on hand, and one in four reports approximately negative five percent (-5%) operating margins. Sustained, robust funding is essential to stabilize, expand access and ensure high-quality care for the 52 million patients CHCs serve (Weitzman Institute, 2025).
Take action today in two ways:
1. Urge HRSA to prioritize:
- Capital investments in health IT and technology infrastructure
- Expand behavioral health and nutrition services
- New Access Points to expand care in underserved communities
- Grow the Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education program
|
2. Ask your U.S. Representative to sign the FY27 Appropriations Letter supporting robust CHC funding. Each year, Congress must approve 30% of CHC funding, and strong bipartisan support is essential. Every signature sends a clear message to Congressional leadership about the importance of funding CHCs. Our goal is to reach 287 signers by March 18.

A few things to know:
- There are two separate campaigns:
- Click here to contact HRSA about CHC funding priorities
- Click here to contact your U.S. Representative about FY27 Appropriations
- If your Representative has not signed on yet, a pre-written letter is ready for you to send. You can customize it using the pencil icon at the top of the message.
- If you receive a message saying you are "ineligible to participate in this campaign," that means your Representative has already signed the letter-great news!
- Currently, only the House letter is open. The Senate letter will be available soon.
- Maximize your impact by sharing these campaigns with 5 others and asking them to act.
