The subject of gender collection in telehealth is now addressed at our tele-triage workplace. We  recognize the need and gender diversity training is included in our curriculum. We would also like to follow best practice in the collection of gender/pronouns for the purposes of triage.

We are considering adjusting our intake process to have our non-clinical staff collect preferred pronouns if the caller wishes to share them and for our clinician to collect sex assigned at birth only if applicable to triage.

In your experience have you encountered other call centers who might be adjusting their intake processes to become more inclusive? How have they adopted best practice?

    Thanks,

    Kim
