Hi Marsha,
I personally take Dupixent and can attest that the medication hurts more than the pinch. What's helped me is finding a place that is not as sensitive (it's going to take trial and error, unfortunately). Also, If it's the syringe, injecting slowly also helps. The area is sore for several minutes to hours, and, in my experience, rubbing it makes it worse.
I started with the autoinjector and can say that it's significantly worse than the syringe. They could also try holding ice to the area for a few minutes to get a deeper numb than the lidocaine or spray can get.
I hope those tips help. I'm interested to see what other people have found.
Have a great day!
