HI!
Our scope of care and task allocation committee decided that only RNs and LPNs could administer RhoGAM. This decision was made because RhoGAM is a blood-derived product (Human plasma/human-derived immunoglobulin), and we have family medicine providers outside our OBGYN locations who administer the drug, as they also provide OB care. we are looking at POLICY to bring this into scope for medical assistants, so that there are guardrails around the medication administration (waiting period/observation, clarity for provider or RN oversite, etc). Hope this helps!
