Hi Sherrie,
I am a new Clinical Project Manager working to standardize workflows across all of our ObGyn offices in order for RN's to work at the top of their scope of practice.
I would love to connect with you on this. Has your organization rolled out this centralized telephone nurse triage to OB intakes?
Thank you!

Hi! We have a centralized telephone nurse triage for most ambulatory service lines that started navigation services for long lead time new patients in endocrinology. Their duties are similar to the list provided in this thread, pertaining to previsit. They now see approximately 20% of all new pts and those nurse navigated visits have higher show rate than those without. They are also able to expedite appointments based on a predetermined list (low volume). We are working on scaling the service to other specialties. If anyone has other metrics measured, let's connect!

Hi,
In our obstetrics clinics, RNs currently conduct prenatal phone calls ahead of a patient's first visit with their physician. During these calls, they complete a risk assessment, gather medical history, and provide general patient education. I'm interested in benchmarking to see whether other organizations follow a similar process.
Thanks,
