Looking for info on any PRIMARY CARE offices that are/have a program for prescribing burprenorphine for opiate dependence.

If your organization does this - I would love to talk with you.

    THanks -

I am the clerkship director for the 3rd year medical students working int the Neuro Musculoskeleatl Institute (NMI) of Rowan University. The NMI is staffed by the Department of Physical Medicine  & Rehabilation. The patient population includes chronic pain management and substance use disorders. Chronic pain patients found to meet the criteria for SUD are transitioned to our SUD population. The SUD population is treated with buprenorphine products: Suboxone, Subutex, Sublocaide or Vivitrol/Ravia. We are not designated to treat SUD with methadone. We do use both methadone and buprenorphine products (Butrans or Belbucca) for chronic pain management.

    Hi Jennifer,

I have included some resources that may assist your organization in establishing a program in the Primary Care setting.

    I hope this helps!

    HI Jennifer,

As an FGHC we do SUD treatment with the meds that Aleesa mentioned.  We've also had good results with "Bup Group" which is a way that providers can see several pts in a short period of time.  Our Behavioral health team coordinates with the providers so that they are not just refill groups.

Where we have run into difficulty is Sublocade injections.  We do not store controlled substances at most of our clinics.  We have two pharmacies but 6 clinics.  That takes a bit of jockeying.
