  • 1.  Certified Medical Assistant ladders or professional development compensation

    Posted 5 days ago

Good morning, I am interested in any organizations that have developed any pipelines, ladders or competency/quality based performance ladders that award their MAs/CMAs based on skills, quality or professional growth etc. We have a career/clinical ladder for our nurses and evaluating if others have levels or ladders for their unlicensed clinical staff. If so please send me your examples, HR tools or program oversight.

    Thanks,

Also interested in this. We created something based on our nursing clinical ladder but would like to see what other organizations used as a compensation guideline for this.

We have developed the ladder as shared below.  We also do an annual skill blitz for our MA Preceptors to get a competency check so they can check off the MA's in their clinics.  The most exciting MA program we have is our MA Intern Program.  We have partnered with an accredited on-line program and the future MA's come to our clinical education area where they are proctored for the on-line work and we have developed a robust skills training for these folks.  We have graduated over 200 MA's since we started.  We have a higher retention rate, and the on-line programs pays for their credentialling test.

Here is a post of our ladder (originally posted in 2020). Lots of other information on MA ladders in search history. Happy to discuss.

Feel free to email me! I know pay will vary based on state, but we have a very clear progression and times of year then the MA can move up. We also have a partnership with a university that our PSRs can become CCMA through an apprenticeship (we have an on-demand during the AAACN conference if you want to hear about it!).
