  • 1.  Nursing Excellence Designations in Ambulatory?

    Posted 17 days ago

    Hello everyone!

Does anyone know of any nursing excellence designations that exist for ambulatory nursing?

Our team is interested in learning whether there are,

    • An overarching ambulatory nursing excellence designation, and/or
    • Recognition programs specific to subsets of ambulatory nursing, for example procedural areas, clinics, specialty practices.

By "nursing excellence designation," we mean recognitions similar to,

    • The Beacon Award for ICUs,
    • The Go Clear Award or other recognitions in perioperative nursing,
    • The Lantern Award in emergency departments.

And population specific designations that are interdisciplinary are in scope, so long as there are nursing excellence elements included :)

    Thank you in advance!!

    Sincerely,

    Michelle Barnhart

    Good Morning,

These are the awards we give once a year.  Any RN in our system is able to be nominated. Then we also have a sunshine award for a Tech/ MA and a separate one for LPNS too.

Thanks Patricia - love all those categories! We have some similar here at OHSU.

We are more interested in finding a National nursing recognition program / award /designation for quality Ambulatory care - not just internal from the institution. So far I haven't heard of any - so perhaps that is an opportunity we can influence through AAACN!

    Hello Michelle,

The Daisy Foundation recognizes excellence in nursing both in the hospital and the ambulatory setting. My organization has several ambulatory nurses who have received Daisy awards, both front line and educators.

    I hope this helps!
