Status Boards patient facing in waiting lobby.

    Good morning,

We recently launched status boards to display in our waiting lounges.  The colored dots are standardized across all locations. The nursing staff use EPIC to place the correct color dot to status the patient. That info is then pulled to the status monitor in the waiting lounge.

Feedback from patients is that they find the color system a bit confusing, and they feel that they still don't know what the expected wait time will be based on the color.

What type of information to you display on your status board monitors?

How do you identify patients? Initials? Last 4 of phone # etc.?

Do you put some text next to their name ("estimated wait time etc.")

Do you have it static or on a loop maybe with other patient info, nature scene rotating etc. (This way they are not staring at the same screen)?

For those of you that have been successful with this, could you send a photo of your monitor?

    Thank you all,

    K
